About

About Workation Hub Konyamachi

With the courtyard and inner garden of a traditional row house, it offers a comfortable place to work. It is easy to reach from Kobe and Osaka, and nature, culture and places to eat are all within walking distance — a hub for enjoying work in the middle of town.

Service

The workation service, and this hub

Workation Hub Konyamachi is the base of workation.life, a workation service that uses Awaji Island as its field. The service covers more than a place to work: it also looks after how you work, what you eat, and how you spend time on the island.

Coworking and the satellite office start with becoming a member. Monthly plans for individuals and companies, and drop-in use, are listed under “Plans & pricing” below.

About the workation.life service

  • A base in the castle town of Sumoto

Easy to reach from Kobe and Osaka, with the sea, mountains, hot springs, shopping street and restaurants all within walking distance of the hub.

  • Maintaining how you work

Working away from your everyday setting gives you room to settle your life and revisit how you work.

  • Island chefs and the food of your stay

Awaji has long been called the “island of food”. We coordinate meals during your stay with chefs we trust, using island ingredients.

  • Connections across the island

Shimatoworks, who run the hub, introduce the people, places and things they have come to know across the island.

Main spaces

A cafe and coworking on the ground floor, a shared satellite office upstairs, and stay rooms — all in one building.

  • Cafe — farm studio Table to Tsubame

A cafe run by the farm studio orchard. Seasonal produce from the farm appears on the menu, members are invited to events and hands-on experiences at the farm, and chefs from around the island are invited to cook here.

  • Coworking space (1F)

A workspace for renewing how you work. The earthen-floor space looks onto the courtyard and adjoins the cafe, with standing desks as well as table seating. There are also meeting rooms, private booths for online calls, and a shared kitchen for office users.

  • Shared satellite office (2F)

Office space for companies looking to establish a base on Awaji Island through workation. It is secured separately from the ground floor, with a large hot-desking room opening onto a veranda and a dedicated meeting room for online calls.

  • Stay rooms (1F)

Stay rooms reserved for people using our services.
